The Swedish word ’närvaro’ is one of my favorites.
It’s a reminder to stop what I’m doing. And listen.

To shut out all the noise. Including news and social voices.
Along with the enjoyable distractions.

All that outer noise places itself right on top
of your own inner voice. Toning it down,
so that you might not hear it. From inside.

I believe we need the pause. To say to
ourselves: I’m here now.
I’m listening.
